PCS Piano Proficiency Examinations are designed for
busy teachers and their students
who still want the highest quality of assessment.
There are NO TEACHER DUES!
NO MEMBERSHIP FEES.....Teachers just send in registration when ready to test!
Students have testing fees that are in line or less than other testing systems.
Studios may test any time and any place during the year.
All PCS Judges are CERTIFIED every two years and must meet stringent guidlines.
Teachers may select any Certified Judge to test.

All students will be evaluated in the following areas:
1. Scales
2. Chords
3. Cadences
4. Arpeggios
5. Sight-Reading
6. Transposition
7. Vocabulary
8. Repertoire
a. Students will play 4 memorized pieces of different styles, tempos, etc (spelled out in the syllabus)
1. Levels 1-3 will not be required to play Baroque, Classical or Romanitic Era pieces
2. Levels 4-Diploma will be required to play Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary pieces
b. Students will be graded in the following areas:
1. Notes and Rests
2. Articulation
3. Artistry
4. Dynamics
5. Fingering
6. Interpretation
7. Phrasing
8. Rhythm
9. Technique
10. Tempo
