Class Piano offers a unique opportunity for students to learn the piano in a social atmosphere. This consumable series of books can be used very effectively, keeping students together in a classroom setting. Parents will appreciate the format and students understand what is expected of them throughout the school year. No longer will you have to spend endless hours organizing material for the upcoming year. Everything you need is assembled in each book, assignment sheets, scales, theory, vocabulary, music appreciation and some basic composition, consolidating what you used to supply in 5-6 separate books. This series gives you the freedom to choose your method book and repertoire. No longer are you locked into a single editor or composer's thoughts as to what to teach. These basic principles of musicianship are at the core of piano study. Because they are designed to cover a year of piano study, they are the perfect compliment to group study. Theory Worksheets: Introduction to keyboard, basic notation, treble and bass clef lines and spaces, sharps & flats, time signatures, dotted notes, ties, slurs, staccato, Major and minor 2nds and 3rds, dynamics, tempo marks, melodic and harmonic intervals, Major scale patterns and ear training

Music Appreciation: Know your Instrument, Peter and the Wolf, the Orchestra, The String Family, The Woodwind Family, The Brass Family, The Percussion Family, The Voice, The Metronome, Musical Eras

(Elementary Level)

Scales: All white key Major and minor scales 1 octave; tonic chord in 3 positions, inverted I-V-I cadences and 2-octave arpeggios

Theory Worksheets: Introduction of eighth and sixteenth notes and rests, Perfect 4th's and 5th's, accidentals, diatonic and chromatic intervals, building Major and minor triads, tonic and dominant, writing harmonic minor scales, beginning composition rules, analysis and ear training

Vocabulary: 60 terms

Music Appreciation: Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary Eras, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, debussy, Copland, Bartok and their pieces

                   Teacher Manual Class Piano 1 & 2

Class Room Edition
